Supervisor / Senior material handler (ingevuld)

For one of our customers, a multinational, we are looking for candidates for the position of Supervisor / Senior material handler. Direct reports are 7 people in the warehouse and 3 people in the office. The Supervisor reports directly to the DC manager.

Position summary:

Supervise the (senior) materials handlers while working with them as being one of them, in problem solving, customer service, (bonded) stock control and distribution, contacts with internal and external parties. Responsible for the inbound and outbound process of all components, assuring that components match paperwork. Input required data into the database during receiving process. Locate material and cycle count inventory as required.

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Lead and evaluate the team; plan, coordinate and direct the operation on a day to day basis;
• Coordinate with customer to assure adequate stocking levels, in time deliveries and to get a good customer relationship;
• Investigate and resolve complaints received from customers;
• Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new employees and the training of the personnel;
• Responsible for (bonded) stock control and distribution;
• Responsible, if any, for AR, in accordance with the financial department;
• Verifies that all incoming or outgoing parts/materials/components comply with ISO 9001 (2000);
• Visually examines materials and accompanying paperwork for defects and sorts articles according to extend of defect. Accurately identified partnumbers, serial numbers and quantities and assures all match the accompanying paperwork;
• Attaches identification data onto article and inputs required part history/part data into the local database;
• Record factors causing materials to be rejected. verify that all required trace documentation is with the received order or shipped order;
• Assists in the loading/unloading and packaging/unpackaging of outgoing, incoming shipments;
• Performs setup and adjustments of machines;
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to met production schedules;
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product; suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop or department.
• Anlyses and resolves work issues;
• Maintain time and production records; estimates, requisitions and inspects material;
• Interface other departments to fulfill production requirements,
• Must adhere to and follow a safety procedures. i.e. Lock/tag out. Report safety concerns;
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• This position requires 3 till 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Must posses excellent, leading, written, verbal and organisational skills and proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal skills and demonstrate high level of competency in dealing with complex problems highly desirable;
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
